Retry a failed transaction

If a withdrawal fails, you don't have to fill in the form again. Initiate Again reopens the withdrawal form with the same recipient and amount already filled in.

You need the Initiator role. See User roles.

Try it: interactive walkthrough

Click the highlighted area on each screen to move through the steps. All names, balances and addresses are demo data.

Find out why it failed

  1. Go to Transaction History and click the failed transaction.
  2. The status at the top of the details shows the reason, for example Failed - Declined with MFA expired.

Fix the cause before you retry. For example, if the MFA confirmation expired, have your phone and Hex Safe Mobile App ready to confirm straight away.

Retry it

  1. In the transaction details, click Initiate Again.
  2. The withdrawal form opens with the same recipient and amount. Check both.
  3. Choose a Network Fee. Fees are recalculated, so they may differ from the first attempt.
  4. Click Withdraw, review the withdrawal, and confirm it.

The retry is a new withdrawal, so it needs confirmation and approval again, just like the first one. See How approvals work.
