Euro Coin is a new euro-pegged stablecoin that was issued in June 2022 by Circle - the same financial technology firm that backs the famous USD Coin ($USDC). Euro Coin is 100% backed by euros held in euro-denominated banking accounts. That means $EUROC is always redeemable 1:1 for euros. According to Circle’s website, Grant Thornton LLP, one of America's largest audit, tax and advisory firms, provides third-party assurance for the reserve. Hex Trust is one of the few digital asset custodians supporting $EUROC.
