Pudgy Penguins is a collection of 8,888 NFTs that was launched in July 2021, and sold out in less than 20 minutes. The project’s roadmap was promising to many, and the chubby creatures obtained a lot of positive feedback from the community. However, the founders failed to deliver the promised utility of the project, and ended up selling to a group of investors for 750 ETH. The project was overtaken by experienced figures such as e-commerce entrepreneur Luca Netz, and co-managing director of LDR Ventures/former marketing director for iconic brands like Steve Madden, Drew Koven.
Besides having a large variety of merchandise products available on their website, the project has announced it will be delivering a metaverse of its own. It holds a strong community, and is supported by a dedicated media channel. The new team has also committed to providing transparency in terms of their goals and their consistent progress.
