FAQs, SOL (Solana) Staking

SOL Staking on Hex Safe — FAQs

1. What is Solana Staking?
Solana staking allows you to delegate your SOL tokens to a validator who helps secure the Solana blockchain and process transactions. Your SOL remains in Hex Trust custody, while the validator uses your delegated stake to participate in consensus. In return, you earn rewards in SOL.

2. How are rewards paid out?
Rewards are paid in SOL and are automatically added to your staked balance at the end of each epoch.

3. Is there a minimum amount required to stake?
Yes, the minimum stake amount is 0.05 SOL.

4. How long does it take for my stake to start earning rewards?
Rewards begin accruing from the start of the next epoch after your delegation is confirmed.

5. Who can I stake to on Hex Safe?
You can delegate to Hex Trust’s partner validators: Chorus One, LugaNodes, and Swyke.

6. What is the APY on Solana staking?
On average, 6–8%, but it can vary depending on network performance and validator activity.

7. How often are rewards distributed?
Every 2–3 days at the end of each epoch.

8. Are there slashing risks when staking SOL?
No. Solana does not have automatic slashing penalties built into the protocol.

9. Can I unstake at any time?
Yes. You can request unstaking at any time. Once requested, your SOL will only become available after the unbonding period of about 1–2 epochs. For step-by-step instructions, please see our guide on how to Stake, Unstake, and Redeem SOL in Hex Safe.
10. Do I need to take action after unstaking to receive my SOL?
Yes. Once the unbonding period ends, you will need to redeem your SOL before it becomes available in your vault.

11. Can I have multiple SOL staking positions from the same vault?
Yes, you can create multiple staking positions as needed.

12. Can I change validators later?
Yes. You can unstake from one validator and delegate to another after the SOL becomes available.

13. Does my SOL leave Hex Trust custody during staking?
No. Your SOL remains in Hex Trust custody, while delegation is handled on-chain through Hex Safe.

14. Where can I see my staking rewards?
You can view all your positions in Hex Safe under the Staking tab.
